Painting ingenuity

We recently had a project using a special type of paint called Scuffmaster. We had to apply this product onto elevator doors inside an office building and the stuff was turning out hazy and rough instead of smooth and metallic. Finally it was determined that a gap between the elevator doors was allowing air flow to come through and prematurely dry the product so that it wasn’t curing correctly. Our solution? Stuff some backer rod in the gap and eliminate the air flow. Ta-da, problem solved.
